Mrs. Agnes Gifty Adjei-Sam is an International Trade Consulting Expert and currently the Chief Executive Officer of AS CHANAN which offers bespoke training and consultancy services in various areas in trade promotion and export marketing.  She is also the proud owner of the natural Cocoa Powder brand called ASCOLATE.

She has over twenty three (24) years experience in international trade promotion and was the immediate past Director of Market Development and Market Promotion at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA).

Having headed various departments at the GEPA including Trade Information, Administration, GEPA Impact Hub, Market Development & Market Promotion she acquired in-depth knowledge and understanding of multinational trading values and systems as well as a rich network of high-value trade and investment relationships locally and internationally at various levels. As Director for Market Development and Market Promotion, she is known to have speared many initiatives to help businesses in Ghana access new markets and consolidate existing ones.  

Agnes has great experience in facilitating the development and implementation of  trade policies and strategies to engender growth of businesses in international trade. She is passionate about the development of Women and SMEs in general and continues to use her experience and networks to coach many enterprises to become competitive in  export trade. She was the National Focal Point Person for the International Trade Centre (ITC) flagship programme, ACCESS! For African Women in International Trade  in the early 2000s and further worked to ensure the effective implementation of the SheTrades Programmes for Women-Owned Businesses in Ghana. She was one of the final selected three trainers for the National Export Strategy Consultant Trainers programme the for SheTrades Commonwealth Project run by the Trade  Facilitation Office (TFO) Canada during and after COVID-19.

Mrs. Adjei-Sam is a Trained and Certified International Trade Centre (ITC) Enterprise Management Development (EMD) Adviser also holds an MA in Organisation Development from the University of Cape Coast.  She is a known Resource Person on various topics in International Trade at the Ghana Export School and is currently a faculty member of the Africa Trade Academy for their bespoke programme ‘Managing Successful Export Business’

Agnes has served on Boards of many reputable institutions such as Global Standards (GS 1) Ghana and Business Ideas for Africa, and many SMEs.
